Scope of Position :

· New business development & customer retention through creative problem solving, excellent phone skills and customer savvy,

· Initiates new leads and business opportunities to grow overall sales

· Focus on daily external client contact and customer service relations to ensure Boston Catering & Events is always out front with its clients

· Build alliances and influence key decision makers

· Customer-centric selling approach & full service support of catering functions from proposal through implementation

· Follow-up customer service call or email with every customer everyday to ensure satisfaction

· Daily interface with Operations/Catering Team about upcoming events

· Collaborate with Chef to thoroughly understand the menu

· Ensure order accuracy by verifying that all event/delivery data is valid, current, and accurate.

· Attend corporate & social catering events

· Work closely with sales teams to assist in capturing group business in all segments including corporate & social business

· Recruit, interview and hire sales staff associates

· Train and support all sales associates and ensure performance in accordance with Boston Catering & Events sales standard

· Create and execute annual marketing plan addressing sales strategy and budget goals

· Understand Catering operations including deliveries, event set up and breakdown

· Solid knowledge of market conditions and competitors, economic trends and supply and demand

· Achieve your personal sales goals and advise team on meeting assigned goals

· Target accounts, locations, markets or segments with proactive solicitation and account saturation

· Grow sales by ensuring inquiries and leads are responded to in an enthusiastic and timely manner

· Manage individual sales goal development and achieve period sales goal targets.

· Support a culture of no client should be a one-time client.

· Partner with Operations and Culinary Departments to ensure events are correctly prepared for and executed.

· Adhere to internal event production paperwork deadlines to include production meetings and tastings.

· Work closely with culinary department in the development of creative presentations, tastings, and proposals.

· Ensure accurate and comprehensive files are maintained with proposals and clients.

· Partner with Accounting/Billing to ensure compilation of accurate final billing and the collection of accounts receivable.

· Invest in, develop and motivate the sales team in a manner so as to maximize productivity.Engage in and support incentive programs.

Candidate Attributes:

· A Bachelor's degree

· Ability to work weekends and evenings when events are held.

· 1-3 years catering industry and business development experience a plus

· Poised and sharp presentation skills

· A Competitive drive and determination (MUST be a self-starter)

· Time management skills

· Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· A Strong understanding of strategic selling

· Acumen in crafting proposal documents

· Experience in all Microsoft Office applications required

· Position offers base plus commission & bonuses for quarterly goals
